Mansuf, Siman-Tov (Mento)
Son of Mazal Tov and Al-Kibutz was born in 1932 in Jerusalem. After graduating from elementary school, he joined Hanoar Haoved and worked in temporary jobs, mainly in silversmiths. After his father’s death, he was the main breadwinner of the family. During the struggle against the British he was already organized in the Resistance, but he kept his secret strictly. In the War of Independence, he served in the Gadna and from there, four months later, to full service, was a playful, cheerful boy who was nevertheless very responsible and very devoted to his mother and nevertheless did not hesitate to leave him. The young man was injured in a mine in the vicinity of Katamon on October 3, 1948. He was transferred to Hadassah Hospital in Jerusalem and died there half an hour later, and was buried in Sheik Bader on the 17th of Elul. 1950 (30.8.1950) was transferred to the eternal rest of the military cemetery at Mount Herzl in Jerusalem.
