Son of Berl and Tova. Born in Bucharest, Romania, on February 24, 1944, the family immigrated to Israel in 1950. He completed his elementary studies at the “President Weizman” School in Jaffa and later continued to study in the ORT school in Givatayim. At the elementary school he was one of the best students, social and loved by his friends, to the bench.Although the ORT school began to take shape, Dan did not attend high school until he was 15 years old. Collecting stamps, his Lev attracted to the sea in those days and there was a collection of seashells and everything the sea would emit on the shore, naturally awake and cheerful and conspicuous with his friends unintentionally. He was tough and very self-confident – and yet he was prone to pranks – he would not like to give compliments and speak softly to his friends, but when he was tough and firm he loved his family and was devoted to his wife and a loyal father to his children, In August 1962 and served in the Navy. He volunteered for submarine service, was a talented diver with a quick and resourceful perception. He went to England to join the submarine “Dakar” and he approached her and his friends in affectionate relationships with them. He knew the “tool” with all its details and knowledge, and there was a great love for it. He was proud of being a diver. While he was in the submarine’s depths, he was becoming more and more rigid because of the responsibility he felt for her. However, when the submarine was on its way home and found on the sea route between Gibraltar and Haifa, the connection with it was suddenly cut off and it was not renewed. This was on the 24th of Tevet 5728 (25.1.1968). The Chief Military Rabbinate determined that the date of the death of Dan, in the course of carrying out his duties together with the rest, was on January 30, 1968. left a wife and two children – and the second son gave birth to his wife in his absence, because she returned to the land to give birth to him; He was only three months old on the fall of his father. Since Dan was one of the missing team members, a memorial monument was placed inside him in a memorial to the Dakar people in the military cemetery on Mount Herzl in Jerusalem. On the 28th of June 1999, after years of searching, the INS Dakar submarine was found on the bottom of the Mediterranean Sea, at a depth of 2,900 meters on its planned sailing route and 250 miles from the port of Haifa. A space whose burial place is unknown.
