Mann, Reuven
Reuven, son of Rachel and Eliezer Mann, was born on the 1st of Shevat; January 3, 1927 in Tel Aviv. When he was 17 he joined the Haganah and participated in a lot of training exercises. In the spring of 1948 Reuven was drafted into the Givati Brigade. He participated in raids on the Egyptians and in sabotage operations. On the 16th of Tishrei, September 19, 1948, during Operation “Yoav”, when they tried to break the road to the Negev, he fell in an attack on the outposts of Hulikat. On Rosh Hodesh Tamuz, July 5, 1951, Reuven was laid to rest at the military cemetery on Mount Herzl in Jerusalem.
