Mamiya, Raphael

Son of Malka and Ezra was born on March 19, 1931 in the city of Caracas, the capital of Venezuela, and immigrated to Israel with his parents on a ship called Vergelio in 1934. The family settled in the Old City of Jerusalem. he joined the Lehi and participated in its activities. During the War of Independence he participated in various battles in besieged Jerusalem to repel the Arab attackers and on 15 May 1948 he fell in battle during the attack of the Lehi fighters on a
bear blood building. He was buried in the Sanhedria cemetery. On the 18 th of Av 5713 (30.7.1953) he was laid to rest at the military cemetery on Mount Herzl in Jerusalem.
