Maman, Makhlouf (Michael)


Son of Rachel and Joseph, was born on the 17th of Tevet 5616 (17.12.1915) in the city of Zarivel, Algeria, where he completed his elementary school and earned his living and supported his parents’ house on the production of sandals. And in the Second World War he volunteered for the liberation of France, participated in the Tunisian regime and invaded Germany until the final victory, and in 1945 he returned to his work. To Eretz Yisrael after the victory, from Makhluf, who arrived in Palestine as a conscript in June 1948. On December 21, 1948, he lost his life in an accident, He was laid to rest in the military cemetery at Nahalat Yitzhak.
