Ben Ruti and Moshe. He was born on the 16th of Heshvan 5742 (November 16, 1981) in Jerusalem. A middle son, a beloved brother to Eran and Natalie. Assaf, a beautiful white baby, emerged into the world in the late morning hours of Sha’are Zedek Hospital. His birth almost ended in disaster because of the umbilical cord around his neck, but he was saved and the circumcision was celebrated with joy. His days of infancy were easy and exhilarating; A pleasant little baby who had the pleasure of holding him, pinning him to his lap and kissing him. At the age of four, Assaf was sent to the kindergarten where he played and rejoiced and became friends with many friends. After completing the kindergarten, he began to attend first grade at the public school in the Neve Yaakov neighborhood. Assaf was one of the outstanding students in the school, and his grades preceded him. In the fifth grade he joined the Kfir tribe in the Scouts movement and was a proud member of the Arava Battalion, loved by all and fulfilling all his missions. He willingly shared his experiences with his family in his activities in the tribe. At the end of sixth grade, Assaf moved to junior high school in Pisgat Ze’ev. When he reached the age of mitzvot, he celebrated the tefillin ceremony at the Western Wall, accompanied by many family members, friends and acquaintances. He graduated from the junior high school as an outstanding student and, thanks to his high grades, was accepted to the Rene Kasan Education Campus in Pisgat Ze’ev for computerization and control. He was evident in his strong tendency to mathematics and his brain would quickly calculate any formula or problem. His sister was also very helpful in her homework. Assaf has a unique and developed sense of humor. He and his classmates formed a cohesive team that stood out among the school community in their high grades and also in the good and cheerful spirit that they had over their friends. His main hobbies were sports, music and entertainment, and he often went on nature walks, which he enjoyed very much. Assaf completed his studies as an outstanding graduate with a matriculation certificate of about 30 units. He decided to give up the recommendation to continue to grades 13-14, which could give him a practical degree, because he wanted to enlist with his friends. In the months before his induction, he had not canceled his time and helped his father with the family’s private business. Assaf received a summons for an aviation course but succumbed to the heavy pressure his mother had made. At the end of November 1999, he joined the IDF, where he was assigned to serve in the Haifa Technical College, where he was sent to serve at the Anatot base in Jerusalem, Where he served as the driver of the assistant officer of the adjutant, and Assaf’s commander testified that he found joy in him, honesty, ability to listen, help and support, and a rare human depth.Asaf was always ready for every mission sent to him, On Assaf 5761 (23.11.2000) Assaf fell in the line of duty when he was 19. Asaf left his base to help a friend, The driver of the vehicle, who was traveling in the car, went out of the car in the back of the car, and the driver lost control of the vehicle, whirled several times and collided with a vehicle he was trying to bypass. In the back seat, he was not put on the ground, was thrown to the ground and killed, along with Sergeant Marian Genha, who sat next to him, and was brought to rest in the military cemetery on Mount Herzl in Jerusalem. His commander eulogized him: “Assaf, you were a human being with the soul of an angel and a heart of gold that always abounded kindness for all.
