Malka, Ehud-Yehuda
Son of Suzy and Abraham. Ehud Yehuda was born in Israel on October 4, 1962. Ehud was educated at the Netivot School in Be’er Sheva and at the Ye’elim School in Eilat, where he studied in high school in Be’er Sheva. He was always in a hurry to help his friends and everyone who turned to him, and Ehud was particularly fond of his parents, and his nephew, the first grandson of the family, was very attached. And volunteered to serve in the Border Police. He completed a course for recruits at the Beit Horon military training base and later completed a course for squad commanders. In 1983 he took part in the officers’ training course and successfully completed his career, and Ehud was very fond of his commanders, and his subordinates used to help with every personal problem that arose in each of them. He joined the staff at the police academy at Beit Horon, and the commander of the school used to define him as a gifted young man with good access to people. Ehud was a talented and responsible officer, who cared mainly for his subordinates. When he returned from the field, and mainly from activities in Lebanon, he would say, “Father, by miracle we do not get hurt in this cursed country.” In October 1985, Ehud was given leave to visit his father who was hospitalized. Instead, he decided to join an operational patrol with his subordinates in order not to burden the system with his absence. During the tour he was hit in a serious accident. Two days later, on October 31, 1985, Ehud died of his wounds at Tel Hashomer. Inspector Ehud fell in the line of duty. He was twenty-three when he fell. He was buried in the military cemetery in Be’er Sheva. Survived by parents, sister and two brothers. In memory of Ehud and the memory of other members of his unit, a monument was erected next to Kibbutz Yad Mordechai, near the area of the event. Ehud’s father, Brigadier General Avraham Malka, wrote a book of sermons and lamentations in memory of Ehud Yehuda: “And this is to Judah”
