Son of Aharon and Sima. He was born in Tel Aviv on January 17, 1953. He participated in the Elitzur basketball team and trained a youth team. He was also a sports reporter for the school newspaper. He liked to read, collected stamps, and left behind a handsome collection of matchboxes from different countries. Together with his extensive activity, he was able to set aside time for Torah and at every opportunity went to pray. Daniel enlisted in the IDF in early August 1971. Although he was able to go to a pilot course, he was forced to give up because of his parents’ request (his older brother was killed in the accident and there were five other girls in his home.) He volunteered to serve in the paratroopers, The grueling commanders and his commanders, who had a great future ahead of him, sent him to an officer’s course.
