Malachi, Yael
The daughter of Jonah and Zechariah. Born on December 3, 1961 in Bnei Brak, Yael began studying at the “Komemiyot” elementary school in Bnei Brak, continued at the “Clal” school in Ramat Gan and completed her studies at the bookkeeping department at Beit- The School of Accounting and Administration, also in Ramat Gan, was recruited to the IDF at the end of March 1980 and assigned to the Military Police Corps. After completing basic training and a course for military officers, Yael was sent to a commanding military police unit and served as a military policewoman, with the rank of corporal. On January 18, 1982, two months before her release from the regular service, Corporal Yael fell in the line of duty and was brought to rest in the military cemetery in Kiryat Shaul. She left parents, brother and sister. In a letter of condolence to the bereaved family, her commander said that “for the past 18 months she has been an active partner with her colleagues in the war on road accidents and the prevention of personal and family tragedies, but unfortunately she herself was a victim in this war.”
