Maevri, Moses


The son of Rachel and Raphael was born in Tel Aviv in 1928. He was a student at the yeshiva of Rabbi son of-Zion Meir Chai Uziel and at a young age began working and getting drunk, and worked as a diamond polisher for three years in Netanya. He joined the “Palmach” and joined the “Haganah” and took part in training. During the War of Independence he served in the “Moriah” battalion, In the Jerusalem Brigade and took part in the battles of Makor Haim, the conquest of Katamon, Baka, etc. In one of the last battles he was wounded in the leg and did not want to wait until he was completely healed and returned to his song “If we stay in the house, God forbid, the Arabs will slaughter us.” Moses fell on the way to Jerusalem on the 11th of Tammuz 5708 (18.7.1948). 28.2.1950) was transferred to eternal rest in the military cemetery on Mount Herzl in Jerusalem.
