Machluf, Ruach


Son of David and Haviva. He was born on 19.9.1937 in Marrakech, Morocco. Before immigrating to Israel, he studied in a “cheder” and then began to work. He insisted that the family leave Morocco and come to Israel, and he himself made great efforts so that the family members would be among the first candidates for aliyah. He promised to help make a living because his father was poor in his health and could not support the nine souls himself. In 1956 the family arrived in Israel and Machluf immediately began to work and take care of his sisters to marry and his younger brothers would learn – who is a professional and who is a high school student according to their characteristics. He himself gave up the establishment of a home and family because he devoted all his energy and energy to his family. Was working as an agricultural laborer and when he was drafted into the IDF he was a model soldier, and later on he went to reserve duty On September 23, 1967, Makhluf was killed in reserve duty when he was doing his duty between Rafah and El Arish. The battalion commander noted in his letter of condolences to his parents that Makhluf stood out in the unit with his volition and courage. He was brought to eternal rest in the cemetery in Ashkelon. His name was immortalized in the book “Yad LaNovelim – Bnei Ashkelon” published by the municipality.
