Maatuf, Yaakov

Son of Yefet and Warda. He was born on 19.2.1960 in Moshav Bareket. He attended a state-religious school in the moshav. He did his high school studies at the Lod Yeshiva. Jacob was a nice boy, a nature lover, a kind hearter and always willing to help others. He took great care of his parents and did a great deal to integrate into the work of the agriculture and thus make it easier for his father. Yaakov was drafted into the IDF in February 1978. Although he served only a short time in the IDF, he became very fond of his friends and commanders, thanks to his social character and temperament, and because he always showed strong love for the country and willingness to do everything. On the 20th of Kislev 5739 (December 19, 1978), he fell to the cemetery in Moshav Barak and left behind his parents, brothers and sisters in a letter of condolence to the family: “Not long ago Yaakov was in our unit but also in the chapter – this short time we got to know his love for his friends and his love for his country … “The family immortalized his memory by publishing a booklet.
