Ma’atok, Nissim

Nissim, son of Ovadia and Naima Ma’atok, was born on April 15, 1945 in the city of Kalaat-Salah, Iraq. The family immigrated to Israel in 1950. He served in the Israel Defense Forces until his enlistment in the air force in August 1962 and served in the air force. In a battle which took place in Abu Tor on the third day of the battles of the Six-Day War, 28 Iyar 5727 (7.6.1967), Nissim fell and he was brought to rest in the military cemetery on Mount Herzl in Jerusalem.
