Lutz, Isaac (Iza)
Son of Zlata and David, was born on July 10, 1919 in the city of Tashkent, Russian Russia. 1933 immigrated to Israel. At first she sat in Netanya and then settled in Jerusalem. In 1935 he joined the Haganah and after the outbreak of the bloody riots of 1936-1939, volunteered for the Nutras. He began his service at the Latrun pumping station, quickly and alertly against the rioters, and continued on to Hadassah Hospital on Mount Scopus. After the liberation of the city, he was no longer fully satisfied with his position there, and when he was on the brink of declaring the state, he joined the army in every unit he chose. A few days later he was among the fighters at the front of Latrun in one of the battalions in the Alexandroni Brigade, the Second Battalion. He was promoted to the 7th Brigade in Operation son of-Nun Aleph for the breakthrough to Jerusalem and was assigned the task of conquering Latrun. Ready for the breakthrough to Jerusalem, to the parents. In Latrun he began his service to the homeland in Notre Dame, where he ended his life. He was hit by a shell and fell on the 24th of May 1948. The Yaffa and well-kept garden in the Menora home is named “Corner of Yitzhak” and commemorates his memory. On the 11th of Adar 5702 (28.2.1950) he was laid to rest at the military cemetery on Mount Herzl in Jerusalem.
