Lunar, Jacob


Son of Israel and Dina. He was born on February 1, 1933 in the village of Avraham (Petah Tikva). He graduated with honors from the Hess elementary school in the city. In order to support the family, he was forced to work in agriculture in Kfar Sirkin. In November 1950 he enlisted in the IDF in the Golani Brigade and completed his basic training course as a trainee in a course for squad commanders on May 6, 1951. He fell in the battle of bayonets – face to face – at Tel Motilla (now Moshav Almagor) near the Sea of ​​Galilee. Yaakov was brought for burial in Afula and on January 8, 1953 he was put to rest in the military cemetery in Haifa. 18 years old.
