Lugasi, Solomon (Shlomo)
Salomon, son of Sami and Maxim, was born on February 22, 1955, in Rabat, Morocco, and immigrated to Israel with his family in 1967. Solomon was drafted into the IDF in May 1973 and assigned to the Artillery Corps. After basic training, and after completing an artillery course and completing successfully, he was sent to an artillery base in southern Israel. He was loved and loved by his comrades in the unit, and his commander testified that he was “devoted and fulfilled his duty to the satisfaction of his commanders.” During the Yom Kippur War he participated in the battles of containment and incursion against the Egyptians on the Sinai front. On the 19th of Tishrei 5740 (October 19, 1973), Solomon fell in battle on the bridgehead, near the Suez Canal, by shelling Katyushas on the embankment. He was brought to eternal rest in the cemetery in Kiryat Gat. Survived by his parents and six brothers and sisters. After his fall, he was promoted to corporal.
