Lugasi, Eliran

Ben Yael and Yossi. He was born on July 16, 1985 in Dimona. A brother to six: Eliav, Bat El, Bat Or, Bat Chen and the twins Shai and Ziv. Eliran made his first years of education at the Revivim Elementary School in Dimona and from there went on to the Zinman High School. At an early age, Eliran was revealed as a smiling and active child and as a broad-hearted man, one of whose qualities was the endless giving to his parents, brothers and friends. Eliran became a loving and loving human being and respected every man, with a smiling but shy smile, a smile that would accompany him throughout his life. Eliran had many ambitions and expectations regarding his recruitment, and as a person who always wanted to contribute to the state from the best of his energies, he sought and even insisted on serving On March 7, 2006, Eliran and three other fighters left for a tour aimed at preventing Palestinians from escaping from the city of Nablus and the village of Tel towards the Ofir route. During the operation, the reconnaissance team was instructed to change its mission and to carry out a checkpoint on the Ophir axis, near the Jit junction. At 16:00, the reconnaissance force was replaced by a new force that continued the mission. At approximately 18:00 the four fighters, including Eliran, stopped a truck for inspection. After the inspection, Eliran got out of the truck, confirmed to his friends that everything was normal and secured his friends. On the other side came the “Duvdevan” force, which made its way through Abir to Shavei Shomron. On a dark road, without any warning, the soldiers did not notice the soldiers at the checkpoint and collided with them with great force. Eliran was killed by the impact. Six more soldiers were wounded. First Sergeant Eliran Lugasi was twenty-one years old when he fell. He was laid to rest at the military cemetery in Dimona. Survived by parents, five sisters and a brother. His family lost a son, a brother, and a beloved and precious grandson. On his tombstone the words were engraved: “Great simplicity and great calmness. You are the light and the hero, our eternal love.” His family writes: “Eliran was always optimistic. He always said that there would be good and good here, and we are waiting for the good that will come, waiting and hoping, and only the image and smile of Eliran do not fade from our memory.”
