Lugasi, Dror (Dedi)


Son of Shoshana and Yosef, was born on Rosh Hashana on the 26th of Tishrei 5758 (26.9.1957) in Rishon LeZion, and since his early childhood Dror was able to become fond of those around him, because of his cheerfulness and good Lev. In the elementary school of Habib, he studied for several years at the high school in Rishon LeZion and completed his professional studies at the “Amal” vocational school in carpentry, And was assigned to the Armored Corps. After basic training, he was stationed at the Armored Corps School, where he studied tank skills and was trained as a tank driver in the Armored Corps. Dror was an experienced, professional and courageous fighter. In mid-May 1979, Dror was released from regular service. He continued to work in his profession together with his father and brothers, and dreamed of setting up his own construction company. Dedi traveled a lot in the country, he learned to recognize and cherish her, and that which saw his eyes immortalized by his camera. He also had an impressive collection of coins. On the 11th of Kislev, 5762 (11.6.1982), a heavy battle took place in the Lebanon Valley during the Peace for the Galilee war, when Corporal Dror was killed when his unit tried to rescue another unit and was brought to rest in the cemetery in Rishon Letzion. Brother and sister, and his family set up a memorial for him in the synagogue in his neighborhood in Rishon Letzion.
