Livshitz, Yigal
Son of Penny and Vladimir, a brother to her. He was born on May 28, 1982 in Mogilov, Belarus, in the Soviet Union, where he immigrated to Israel in 1989. Yigal began his elementary studies at the Yefe Nof School, After graduating from the “Tomishin” high school, Yigal became a member of the Bezeq company and was always surrounded by friends, when he grew up, wanted to be independent, loved to work, to take care of himself and mainly loved to laugh and have fun. He was the youngest and his relationship with his parents was strong and close, and although he always got what he wanted, it was impossible to say that he was spoiled. In November 2000 Yigal enlisted in the IDF and volunteered for the Golani Brigade, despite the fact that he could serve in a non combat position because he was an only child. Yigal insisted on serving in a combat unit, claiming that if he was not a combat soldier, he preferred not to serve at all. Although his parents hesitated, he continued to insist that it was the right thing to do and that he was determined. Even during his service as a combatant, while serving in Jenin and Har Dov, and despite the difficulties, Yigal was never broken and only strengthened and continued on his way, believing in his actions. About a year before his release, Yigal received a position – the driver of the company commander, and continued his military operations in the territories, while at the same time taking care of his comrades in the company. That Yigal was a very caring man who always liked to help, no matter who, a person who could be relied upon without a shadow of a doubt, never cared for his interests, if that might have harmed the interests of others. His close friends were very strong and indisputable, and Yigal always insisted on his views, and his stubbornness led to arguments, which at the end of the day were almost always right. He always said the truth, and Yigal expressed his opinion and gave sincere advice only if he was asked to do so, and if they did not ask for his opinion, he usually only listened and kept his thoughts to himself. He used to eat an impressive meat meal, and in the end he would sit on the chair, light a cigarette and relax, and for him, Yigal was a very special person, the one who knew him learned only good things from him on 10.4.2003. ) Yigal fell in a terrorist attack in Bakaot and he is twenty-one years old. After his death he was promoted to the rank of Staff Sergeant, and was buried in the military cemetery in Rishon Letzion.
