Livin (Yavin), Chaim


Son of Zehava and Shmuel, was born onthe 23rd of Av, 5.8.1923 in the village of Machanayim in the Upper Galilee. Chaim was one of the members who helped Ein Harod and Tel Yosef on “Black Sabbath” (June 29, 1946), during which the British searched the valley’s farms. He was arrested and sent to the Rafah camp. On his return from Rafah, Chaim devoted himself to his favorite sports and sports activities. He married an immigrant from Romania and celebrated the birth of his daughter. On the morning of March 19, 1948, a division of the Golani Brigade set out to ambush the Gilboa branch near Nuris, and Arab fighters from this village and from other villages. In the course of this battle, on the 8th of Adar II, August 19, 1948, he was killed in an attempt to rescue a wounded friend. He was laid to rest in the cemetery in Kfar Yechezkel.
