Littman, Roman


Son of Matilda and Siegfried, was born in the town of Horzhow, Poland, on the 2nd of Av,September 8, 1929. He studied in a high school but his studies were interrupted with the German invasion, his father served as an officer in the Polish army. On their first visit to Israel via Teheran on December 22, 1943, the father remained in the Polish army, changed his religion and cut off ties with his family, In order to support his mother, Littman began to prepare for the matriculation exams, but was forced to postpone his studies because of the hard work he worked as a mechanic and driver. Littman served at the airport in Tel Aviv as field guard and fell victim to the first bombardment of the field. After his duty he began to sleep in the hut and was injured in his sleep at the “Sde Dov” airport in Tel Aviv, and died on the way to the hospital on 6 Iyar 5708, 15 May 1948. He was laid to rest in the military cemetery at Nahalat Yitzhak
