Litmanovich (Arnon), Mordechai
Son of Rivka and Yosef, was born on the 13th of Av, July 30, 1928 in the Bat Galim neighborhood of Haifa, and studied in the school for the children of workers. When he was nine, he joined the Mahanot Ha’olim movement, and was an active member of it. When he graduated from elementary school, he began to work, but continued his activities in the movement. At the age of sixteen, he left the city, and went on to train in the “HaNoar HaOved” in Tel Yosef. At the end of the two years of training in the youth company, he was sent as the movement’s emissary, and went to a training course in Ein Harod. He was loved by his apprentices, but dreamed of training in the “Eitanim Afikim” (Palmach), and going to settle in Revivim. Mordechai passed away on the 29th of Kislev, December 31, 1948. The “HaNoar HaOved” in Petach Tikvah published a pamphlet in his memory. On the 26th of Kislev, December 5, 1950, he was transferred to the military cemetery in Haifa.
