Lilo, Joseph

Son of Sophia and Michael, was born on February 19, 1927, in Sofia, the capital of Bulgaria, where he completed a Hebrew primary school and began to work in the horticulture industry. When he immigrated to Israel in 1945, he joined the Irgun underground and continued to serve in its armed forces against the Arab enemy, when he attacked the Manshiyya neighborhood in the northern part of Jaffa. He took part in the battles in Ramle, where he fell on Wednesday, June 11, 1948. On the 11th of Iyar 5702 (May 6, 1952), he was laid to rest in a grave in the military cemetery in Kiryat Shaul
