Lilo, Jacob (“Jackie”)

Son of Israel and Anda. He was born on August 29, 1947 in Sofia, the capital of Bulgaria. A year and a few months later the family immigrated to Israel with Yaakov. After he began his studies at the Shenkar Elementary School in Holon, he continued and completed them at the “Shivat Zion” school in Jaffa. He then studied at the Shenkar College of Engineering in Ramat Gan. He was a member of a youth club on behalf of the Tel Aviv Municipality. He was drafted into the IDF in August 1965 and served as a commander in the paratroopers’ ranks. While on regular service, on the 27th of Adar 5727 (February 27, 1967), he fell while fulfilling his duties and was put to rest at the military cemetery in Kiryat Shaul.
