Lifshitz, Shlomo
Shlomo, son of Mina and Zvi-Dov Lifshitz, was born in 1913 in the city of Lodz, Poland, and acquired a thorough education. Shlomo aspired to a pioneer and prepared for a working life in Eretz Israel, and for that reason he spent a year in training in Poland. He immigrated in 1934. In Israel he worked in every job he encountered, and also in commerce. Shlomo married a wife and was involved in his home. He was quiet and mild-mannered. He chose Jerusalem as his place of residence. Shlomo was killed by an Arab bullet near Sheikh Jarrah on May 31, 1948. He was buried in Sheikh Bader Aleph. On the 28th of Elul 5710 (10.9.1950) he was laid to rest at the military cemetery on Mount Herzl in Jerusalem.
