Lifshitz Ehud (“Udi”)


Son of Aharon and Genia. Born in Kfar Saba on December 24, 1944, after graduating from the Brenner elementary school in Kfar Sava, he attended the Katznelson High School until he graduated from it. He belonged to a youth movement and joined the paratrooper Nahal Brigade. When his service ended, he began studying economics and economics at the Hebrew University of Jerusalem. After his first year at the Hebrew University in Jerusalem, he studied at the university in Tel Aviv, but he did not neglect Spot. There was a joy in life that found expression mainly in his love of dancing. He also had a sensitive soul and loved music and poetry. Tom-Neurim, modesty and simplicity marked his personality. He was full of strength and energy and all radiant in a worn-out way. He was active in the social life in Kfar Saba and together with his friends worked to establish a student club for the children of Kfar Saba and the surrounding area. He initiated various cultural activities and wanted him and his friends to take part in the Memorial Day for IDF Fallen Soldiers that took place in Kfar Saba in 1967. But when he did not manage to reach the rally, he said: “Nothing, next year I will be there!” And he did not know what he had predicted. A few days later called to reserve duty and on his first trip home from Jerusalem (on June 5) he wrote: “The war is a terrible thing. And the next day, on the second day of the battles, on the 27th of Iyar 5727 (June 6, 1967), in the battle that took place in the fortified formation of Sheikh Jarrah in Jerusalem, the enemy bundle hit him while he was in the house of the house from which shots were fired – To rest forever in the military cemetery on Mount Herzl in Jerusalem. In memory of seven students of the university in Tel Aviv – and Ehud among them – and one of its employees was founded a scholarship fund on behalf of the president of the university and its benefits were awarded a scholarship in the name of each of the fallen of the Six Day War. In the book “Marinas Gabro” of the Paratroopers Headquarters was devoted a page to his history and description of his last battle.
