Liebal, Danny

Liebal, Danny

Ben Talma and David. He was born in Tel Aviv during the War of Peace to the Galilee, on the 13th of Tammuz 5742 (4.7.1982). A younger brother to Orly, nine years his senior, and Dorrie, two years older than him. He spent most of his life in the Afeka neighborhood of northern Tel Aviv, except for a year, when he was three to four years old, when the family lived in Ramat Aviv. In the kindergarten in Afka, Danny met his good friend Eitan, who accompanied him later in life. At the age of six, the family moved to Boston, Massachusetts, where he began his first year of studies. He absorbed himself well with the children, quickly acquired the English language, and enjoyed every moment, according to video footage from those magical days. At the end of the sabbatical year, the family returned to their home in Tel Aviv, and Danny entered second grade at the Ilanot elementary school. His outstanding passion for art, his passion for painting and his bursting creativity led him to the School of the Arts in Tel Aviv, where he studied from the third to the end of the junior high school, specializing in plastic arts. “Danny joined us in the third grade,” Danny wrote about the school’s school yearbook, “which did not interfere with his rapid integration, and immediately became the source of the girls’ interest, and somewhere in the sixth grade he became friends with Efrat first, “Danny is a nice and kind child with a lot of humor and cynicism that can be annoying at first, but when you get to know him well, it’s just funny … Conversations with him will always make you smile, even if the subject is serious …” Indeed, Danny’s sense of humor was one of his hallmarks, And gave him the affection of those around him. Danny was also known for his excellent facial expression and voice. Danny, as mentioned, liked to paint – both hand and computer – his main hobby in those days, and even his specialization in the program. Danny had a special painting line, and he painted many imaginary animals and different crosses, like a whale and a dog. In the educational arena, Danny stood out as a brilliant student, achieving very high grades. He spent a lot of time with his good friends Ofer Barak and Liron. Daniel had a great and unusual love for animals. As an avid dog lover he knew how to identify every breed, and he loved all the family dogs, especially his great white fengue. Around the age of twelve, his mother says, Danny decided to realize his love for horses: “He opened ‘Yellow Pages’ and told me, ‘Now we are choosing a farm nearby, and I’m going to ride.'” And so it was; Three times a week Danny rode at the Yagur farm in Kiryat Shaul, and soon began to gallop wildly and learn the obstacle race. “He loved it so much,” says his mother, Thelma, “who asked us to buy him a horse for a bar mitzvah.” The parents took the idea seriously, but finally the plan was shelved and it was agreed that Danny would be able to continue riding at his farm, and the horses would stay there. Danny continued high school in “Ironi D”? In his city, where he belonged to a group of close friends called “the gang” – Tomer, Gil, Ran and others. Danny’s friends tell of a special and talented boy, the most profound person they knew “cynically crazy”, which provided the living atmosphere and funny moments. Tomer: “We did a lot of fun together, we went to the beach for parties, it was just fun in high school, Danny was crazy, he used to sit in a class, put on a Walkman headset, put on a volume volume that the entire class heard, and start singing and rattling in panda colors on a sheet of paper. The whole table … Ran: “We used to find ways to pass the time … Danny would take a lot of white pages and just draw and draw … Then he would take his paintings and hang them around the classroom …” Gil: “What was unique It was he who always found aThe funny, cynical thing about everything. He used to exaggerate things and laugh at them. He was always happy to go out and have a good time. “In his close relationship with his friends, Danny expressed his great love, as well as the depth and sensitivity he enjoyed – for man, for art, for sports, for animals – and for life in general. “I loved him a lot more than he thought or knew.” Sivan: “His sequence of thought has always fascinated me and I am very happy to find him,” says Sivan. I liked him, the way he talked and how he behaved was the most special. It was very real. He hated bullshit and foza. I can not point to one conversation with Danny who was not me. “And indeed, Danny’s mouth and heart were always equal, and he avoids gossip and slander.” Not that he thought everyone was perfect, “the parents explain,” but he did not like to say things about someone “Even though he had hardly studied, Danny was an excellent student and his grades on the matriculation exams hardly went down” very good. “” I did not see him studying for exams, “says Tomer. But Danny’s investment in school did not indicate a lack of interest: On the contrary: Danny’s endless curiosity and his aspiration for knowledge were a significant component of his personality: in fact Danny was a philosopher, A serious, solid-minded person who likes to think and argue When he was interested in a particular subject, Danny “dressed” him and studied him thoroughly and thoroughly. He was busy thinking about things most people did not think about-the essence of things, the essence of life. He liked to be interested in knowledge – on the Internet, abroad. ” In his last years, Danny began to discover and continue in Buddhism and in Zen. When his mother traveled abroad, he asked him to bring him the full Buddha’s writings, and when he received them he read them eagerly and used to quote them, and at the same time, at the age of fifteen, discovered the Giu-jitsu, In Japan, as usual, he devoted himself to the matter and his life, during this period, was organized around training, and for two years Danny practiced intensively for several hours at a time and was the only boy in the group where most of the participants were older than him. Yu Jitsu “in Japan At the beginning of the 12th grade, when his mother Thelma was going to Japan, she asked Danny to join her. “The main reason Danny wanted to go with me to Japan,” she says, “is the chance to get a lesson there in one of the martial arts.” The joint trip was underway, and Danny was trained for several hours with a group of Japanese. Since he knew the concepts of martial arts, he managed to integrate into the group despite the language limitations, was complimented on his strength and skills, and was happy. “Traveling with him to Japan was a special experience,” recalls Thelma. “I saw the tremendous knowledge he had – in economics, in religion, and we also had a good time, and we saw a geisha and he took a photo with them, and in Kyoto they put us in a temple that no one was allowed to enter. Danny was a loved and loving family member. He was especially close to his brother Dori – the two grew up together, and even if they quarreled a lot, shared shared experiences and loves. At one stage, I realized how much stronger he was than I was … “The common denominator among all the members of the family was the witty humor of” Seinfeld “and” Everybody Loves Raymond ” “Dori explains:” We had something genetic in the family, especially me and him, and we had the same kind of sense of humorAnd the two that make me laugh the most are him and our dog. We were a threesome. Danny was very cynical, but very carefully. He saw how absurd things are and how reality is the most unreasonable thing there is, but he knew how to find the humor of it, and usually did not let it frustrate him. “Danny was also a good and devoted grandson, especially concerned about his grandfather, and visited him frequently. And the parents were abroad, Danny would ride to his home in the center of Tel Aviv on his bicycle every day, and bring him food. At the celebration of Grandpa Hillel’s 90th birthday, Dani Bracha read a book that moved everyone, in which he expressed his great appreciation to Grandfather. Later on, Danny Shire wrote about his grandfather: “Grandpa has three grandchildren / and with jokes everyone is charming / with a sleeve / “He is always good / to hear my voice on the phone, through the line // Pardes him / his grandfather was an important man / now the world Belongs to the young / and his world is crumbling to pieces. ” It is astonishing to see the mature and sensitive distinction of a seventeen-year-old boy. He also had a special relationship with Orly, his older sister, who, from the height of her age, accompanied him in his various life stations and closely followed his path. The celebration of Orly’s wedding with On was one of the most exciting events in the family’s life, and when the young couple went to Boston to study, Dani realized how difficult it was for him to be separated. In the summer of 2000, Orly and Owen invited Danny to come to them. Danny traveled, and had a wonderful vacation with many experiences. He was happy with the joint. On October 25, 2000, Danny enlisted in the IDF and began basic training, after which he was supposed to begin a course at the Tel Hashomer base. “He loved basic training,” says Tomer, “he liked to get up at night and talk.” Oded relates that he knew him in basic training and between him and Danny A special connection was made: “I got to make five of six saves with Danny. We were together for thirty hours. Best I remember the songs. The first picture when I think of Danny is Saturday, ten days after we enlisted. There was no one at the base and we kept. We were upside-down, spilled, it was very cold, he started to sing songs, loudly. Songs in Hebrew I think he did not know at all. He sings songs only in English. … I think about it every day. I’m thinking about him, because every day there’s something else that reminds him of it. “A poem written by Danny during basic training:” I am in the army / I am sitting on the floor / I am going to sleep / I will dream about you my darling / I will dream that you are my love / I dream because all of me / religious is asleep in bed next to me / and the snoring here in the tent deafens my ears / sometimes I think / when the army will change me / and what a better life / here or in my bed That you are here by my side / I will dream that I will love / dream that you are all mine. “Private Danny Liebel fell in the course of his duty on 14.11.2000, and he is eighteen years old. And in the military cemetery in Kiryat Shaul, he left his parents, sister and brother on his gravestone: “Our dani is our beloved son, a brilliant boy / a handsome nobleman, you are with us forever.” Lt. Col. Shoshan Mazzarafi,Was a serious soldier, who displayed self-discipline and great motivation for service. As a diligent and devoted soldier with a high personal level, Danny demonstrated professionalism in his work and stood out in his personal abilities. At this difficult hour, when your loved one is gone, I know that there is no words in consolation. In my name and in the name of the commanders and soldiers of the unit, I express our sincere condolences and our participation in your grief and grief. “After Danny’s death, his sister, Orly Bat, was born to his sister, Daniel, after him, and a daughter was born to his brother Dori and named after him.Tom David, one of Danny’s friends, wrote the song about Danny Leibel “His parents loved him,” says his family, “he would not want to be talked about.” His loved ones filmed and edited a film in his memory, against the background of the music he loved, stories and memories of family and friends And more. In the film, David, Danny’s father, reads one of the songs he wrote: “A small song / not medium or large / I will be here / Middle song / Not too simple or too / Not fat or thin / The song string / insignificant but meaningful / small but large / long but easy to read // This song covers a white / blue and white page and there is a flag / this song and it is almost over / so please / please / do not get a white page. Danny left behind many works, and his large paintings adorn the walls of his parents’ home. His parents commemorated him in a sculpture donated to Tel Aviv University. The sculpture “Opus 2000” by artist Adam Berg, made of stainless steel and glass. The sculpture was placed in Gottesdiener Square, near the Naftali Building and the Bar-Shira Auditorium. At the dedication ceremony of the sculpture, in December 2002, Danny’s mother, Prof. Thelma Liebel, Prof. Itamar Rabinovich, Prof. Mordechai Omer and Prof. Asa Kasher delivered the lecture “Life in the Heart”. At the memorial ceremony marking the 10th anniversary of his fall, Professor Shlomo Biderman gave a speech in memory of the connection between Buddhism and Judaism – a topic related to Danny’s interest. At the memorial ceremony marking the fifth anniversary of his fall, Professor Shlomo Biderman spoke of philosophy and painting – the two subjects that Danny loved. His mother read his poems, his friend Tomer wrote things in his memory, the singer Michal Doron sang a song about the death of children according to Mahler’s music, and his brother Dori played a piece of guitar that he wrote to remember.
