Son of Yael and Elimelech was born on February 10, 1925, in Warsaw, the capital of Poland. When he was six months old, the family immigrated to Israel and settled in Herzliya. After graduating from the local elementary school, he moved to the Tel Aviv High School of Commerce and was a student at the British Institute of Engineering and Technology and the Institute of Commercial Sciences. After completing his studies he completed a year of service in the Hebrew settlement police in Kfar Yona. David began working in the diamond industry in Netanya, and later as a clerk in the “Loan and Savings” in Herzliya. He was an active Haganah member and also trained others. He was a member of the Maccabi football team and played for the national team several times, with the beginning of the War of Independence after the UN General Assembly resolution of November 29, In 1947, he volunteered for the division of the country into two states, took part in guarding the area, and only on April 20, 1948, he was drafted into the Alexandroni Brigade. At first he served as a battalion sergeant, and later became a combatant. He participated in the operation “Danny”, the occupation of Majdal, Rosh Ha’ayin and the battle for her voice. On July 15, 1948, in the evening, his company replaced another company from the brigade in the posts east of Cule, and had not yet managed to prepare and dig in properly. On the morning of July 16, 1948, Legion forces attacked the fort, using artillery fire and armored vehicles, to override the positions of the platoon in the front post and forced the company to withdraw, and on that day it fell on July 16, 1948 ). He was laid to rest in the military cemetery in Netanya.
