Levitas, Dmitry (Dima)

Dmitry (Dima), son of Marina and Alexander Levitas, was born in the Soviet Union in 1988. At the end of 1990 the family immigrated to Israel. On March 18, 2007, Dimitri joined the IDF, served as a combat soldier in Armored Corps 7, completed an officers’ course and continued his regular service in the unit. Captain Dmitry fell in combat during Operation Tzuk Eitan, on 25 Tamuz, 22 July 2014. Dmitry was twenty-five years old when he fell and was brought to eternal rest in the military cemetery on Mount Herzl. He was survived by his parents, a sister and a brother.
