He was laid to rest in the cemetery of Kibbutz Afikim. He was 20 years old. Survived by his parents, brother and two sisters. In a letter of condolence to the bereaved family, his commander wrote: “Ziv knew very well what a great goal he and his comrades were going to go to, and he also knew the heavy price that might be demanded of each of them. He chose to do his military service in the Nahal Brigade, with the clear knowledge that in this act he is making a direct contribution to the security of the State and to ensuring the continuation of the momentum of settlement in Israel, which is an integral part of the promise of our existence. “
