Levin, Yitzhak (“Itzele”)


Yitzhak, son of Aryeh and Feia Levin, was born in the city of Vyborg, Finland in 1941 and immigrated to Israel in 1957. After his discharge from the army, he was often called to serve in the reserves, as well as before the Six-Day War. Yitzhak was a sapper in the reconnaissance unit, and on the second day of the battles, on the 27th of Iyar 5727 (June 6, 1967), in the battle at the Qabatiya junction, in Shomron, his unit encountered tank fire and after the force was released Yitzhak returned to collect casualties. He was killed on that day, 27 Iyar (6.6.1967). Yitzhak was buried in the military cemetery in Netanya.
