Levin, Raphael (“Rafi”)
Son of Yitzhak and Sarah. He was born on July 24, 1931 in Jerusalem, and after completing his studies in elementary school, he learned that his education at home was religious, and he was a member of the Haganah, . With the outbreak of the War of Independence, he was still on the school bench, but he could not help but join the ranks of the “Hayash.” During the days of the siege, he accompanied convoys to danger areas and even increased his fighting in the Notre Dame area. The war went on to Tel Aviv and worked in mechanical machinery, and in the meantime he underwent a sabotage course and was sent on a mission to Mount Scopus, then went down to the southern Negev and then went up to the Jerusalem hills – always with passion and readiness. On the seventh day of Kislev, 5711 (11.11.1956), he fell in the line of duty and was put to rest at the military cemetery in Kiryat Shaul. He put down a wife. The booklet “In Memory” was dedicated to him and to four of his comrades who fell in one of their battalion operations.
