In 1965 he participated in the Leningrad Congress. And in 1966 he was awarded a doctorate at the Technion, where he was awarded the Arnan Prize by the Association of Engineers and Architects in Israel for his doctoral dissertation on optimal utilization of water resources, and joined the Industrial Engineering and Management Research Group of the Hebrew Technion in the fall of 1967. During the “thirties” of his downfall, a memorial ceremony was held at the Hebrew Technion to encourage his friends. His commander also spoke, praising the mutual relations between Oded and the unit. “We knew the role he plays and I have to say, with all that it seems simple to me, that such a person also knew how to be humble and to relate to all kinds of people, without wanting to transcend, or “It’s not a doctor’s test, it’s a test of a person, and I think that in this test Dede was admirably admiring – – – I take that attitude very seriously and it proves that he has very serious values.” Among the speakers at the memorial was a member of the unit who spoke about Oded, who was self-confident, and said that this self-confidence was a cover for Oded with professional knowledge and confidence. Later on, he also spoke about Oded’s relations with his friends and said that there were never any barriers between him and them and that he liked him. At the end of his speech, he said that Dede did not like the army, but nevertheless went to do what he had to do with the rest of his friends and did not take advantage of any chance or escape from carrying the burden together with his comrades in the field. The advisor at the memorial ceremony said that Oded was a guy with thoughts and principles and was not inclined to compromise. “In science,” he said, “we are talking about intellectual honesty, that science should be objective, it’s true about science, but it’s not true of scientists.” He talked about the possibility of working with Oded and the inexplicable satisfaction of working with a man of extraordinary intellectual ability. Professor Benjamin Avi-Yitzhak, the dean of the Faculty of Industrial Engineering at the Hebrew Technion, wrote in an article published in Haaretz about three months after Oded fell: “Oded was one of the scientistsWho have warned us and in his research, has broken new ground and his work has earned him a reputation among the scientific community around the world. He devoted himself especially to research in mathematical programming and optimization methods. However, he had an in-depth knowledge of most areas of performance research. Over the past year he has devoted much of his time as chairman of the program committee to preparing and organizing a program for the Israeli-American Conference on Performance Research, optimism, faith in man, and love of the land and its landscapes, Adam devoted himself to the subjects in which he engaged in enthusiasm and recognition, sought perfection in all his actions and expected his students and colleagues to meet the requirements he demanded of himself. ” On the first anniversary of his death, a study room was dedicated to his memory in the building of the Faculty of Industrial Engineering and Management at the Technion.
