Levin, Naftali (“Talik”)


Son of Yosef and Hannah. He was born on September 8, 1950 in Moshav Herut, near Tel Mond, and attended the regional elementary school in Tel Mond. During his studies, he was a member of the movement of the moshavim in Hanoar Haoved. After returning from school, he would assist in the processing of his parents’ agricultural farm. The love he felt for the work of the land and the affection for the flora and fauna that he nursed at his parents’ home and in the agricultural farm led him to study in the Kadouri Agricultural High School and finish it successfully. In the school he was active in his class and was elected to the class committee and represented by outside work. He was an example to his friends, first to every task in both work and society and headed all the social enterprises of the school’s students. He was drafted into the IDF in early February 1969 and joined a volunteer unit where he served with devotion and loyalty. This unit was also the first in the group. He moved up the ranks until he finished an officer’s course. During his last visit to Israel, he made his plans for marriage and the establishment of a farm in the Sharon land on August 30, 1971, Lieutenant-Colonel Naftali fell in the line of duty and was put to rest at the cemetery in Tel Mond
