Levin, Nachman


Son of Frieda and Yosef. He was born on September 7, 1956. In early June 1975 Nachman was drafted into the IDF. He underwent a basic training course and was appointed as a warehouse clerk in the air force. His commanders assessed him as a thorough, enterprising, responsible and committed soldier, diligent and efficient, disciplined, and capable of organization and management. His expertise and honesty in every area of ​​his work were at the highest level. After his discharge from the IDF, Nahman began his work as an accountant in the Finance Department of the Jerusalem Courts Administration, and was called in reserve duty in October 1988. On October 20, 1988, Nachman fell while serving. He died of an illness and was brought to eternal rest in the military cemetery on Mount Herzl in Jerusalem. Survived by his parents, four brothers and two sisters, who was thirty-two years old at the time of his death. In a letter of condolence to the bereaved family, the commander of his unit wrote: “Your dear son, Sergeant Nachman, served in the Air Force base in Zrifin. He was a quiet soldier, disciplined and acceptable to the whole crew. Of blessed memory”.
