Levi, Zerubavel (Zoro)

Zerubavel, son of Rachel and Eliyahu Levi, was born in 1921 in Iran and immigrated to Israel in 1925. At the outbreak of the War of Independence, he re-established his position in the Jerusalem Brigade and was among those who established the position at Beit Mandelbaum. He took part in operations in the Sheikh Jarrah neighborhood on the 12th of Adar 2, 5708 (March 23, 1948), Zerubavel was seriously injured when he transferred weapons to positions in the Shimon HaTzadik neighborhood. He was transferred to Hadassah Hospital and died of his wounds on the same day. .
