Levi Yitzhak

Son of Tzvia and Yirmiyahu, was born in Jerusalem on March 24, 1931. At first he studied in the “cheder”, continued to study in the “Mizrachi” Talmud Torah and then continued his studies in the evenings and on the day he worked as a metalworker. Of the Hagana and after the UN General Assembly resolution on partition he joined the Jerusalem Brigade and went on training in the northern Dead Sea and in Sodom and later took part in the defense of Jerusalem. Yitzhak fell back from escorting a convoy of supplies to the besieged Hartuv. The convoy managed to break through the settlement, but on the way back it was ambushed by a better enemy force. The car that Yitzhak was traveling in stopped and went down to the Canal, and he was defeated together with several of his friends on 7 March 1948. He was brought to eternal rest in the cemetery in Sanhedria in Jerusalem on 10 Adar II 5708. He was 17 when he fell.
