Yitzhak, son of Tema and Mendel, was born in 1912 in Poland, in the town of Sanok in Central Galicia, Lvov District, where he studied basic baking and worked there, and when he joined the Polish army he took an officer’s course and served as an officer. Sannock, where several thousand Jews lived, was conquered by the Germans on September 9, 1939.
