Levi, Yigal


Son of Avraham and Sarah. He was born on the 17th of Tishrei, 5709 (October 17, 1948) in Rehovot. When he reached school age, he began studying at the Remez elementary school in Lod. He then studied and was educated in Degania Bet, Kibbutz Haon and Ramat Hadassah. Yigal loved to come to the aid of another. He was a social man and his nature was cheerful. Was fond of all his friends and family and especially devoted to his brother Benjamin, who underwent several operations; He told him, “Do not worry, if you are disabled I will support you.” Even his father was comforted by his suffering. The kibbutz, where he studied and was educated, was accepted in society for being devoted to work. In February 1967 he was drafted into the Armored Corps and served until the day he found his death, on 10 May 1968; This was during the course of his duties in Sinai. He was laid to rest in the military cemetery in Kiryat Shaul. The commander of his unit mentioned him as a devoted man to work within the unit.
