Levi, Yehezkel


Son of Sarah and Shaul, was born in April 1929 in Tel Aviv. He was a member of the Irgun underground and was known as “Elimelech” during the struggle, was arrested by the British for six months and then released in 1948. At the beginning of the War of Independence Yehezkel participated in the attack on the Manshiyya neighborhood in the north of Jaffa. He joined the Irgun in the Givati ​​Brigade and on July 18, 1948, during Operation “Death to the Intruder” in an attempt to break through the Negev, he and his company attacked the village of Beit Afa. In this battle he fell on the 11th of Tammuz 5708 (18.7.1948) and was laid to rest in the military cemetery at Nahalat Yitzhak.
