Levi, Yaniv
Ben Ziona and Azriel. He was born on the 22nd of Cheshvan 5727 (22.10.1966) in Ness Ziona. He studied at Eshkol Elementary School. In high school, he decided to apply for a professional degree in electrical engineering, so he moved from the Nes Tziona high school to the ORT school in Rehovot and then to the Urim in Tivon. His credibility, his pleasantness and his joy of life attracted many, and in all the schools he studied he was always surrounded by friends. From a very young age, he helped his father in his garage and not only in the regular work, but also in managing the money and the accounts. He was a responsible, dependable and, on the other hand, a playful boy who loved to spend time and was able to take advantage of life. In January 1985, Yaniv was drafted into the IDF, despite the family’s many attempts to convince him that Yaniv would not be able to work for a non-combat unit and insisted on serving in the paratroopers or naval commando unit. Volunteered for the paratroopers, underwent basic training and a parachuting course, and at the end of the strenuous infantry course, his company climbed up to catch a line in Lebanon. Yaniv did want to continue with his friends and return as company commander, but decided to go to the Symbols Course and then return to instruct at the School for Commanders , And Yaniv, who is adaptable and able to connect easily, quickly found his place there: Throughout the military career, Yaniv stood out with his optimism and high morale and his ability to manage in any situation. A good spirit and knew how to encourage the rest, and so in the school for squadrons – his vitality and his positiveness enabled him to get to the level very quickly Staring at both operational and social functions. On the 19 th of Kislev 5747 (19.12.1986) Yaniv fell in the line of duty and was brought to rest in the military cemetery in Nes Tziona. Survived by his parents and two sisters – Tali and Anat. His parents published in his memory a memorial booklet containing the words of friends and relatives about his character and his life.
