Levi (Yanai), Avshalom

Avshalom, son of Mazal and David Levi, was born in May 1927 in Jerusalem. He was imprisoned for a full year in the Latrun detention camp, and was involved in various battles of the Etzel forces in Jerusalem, the defense of the neighborhoods of Shimon Hatzadik, Beit Yisrael and the Mandelbaum House. Avshalom fell on May 19, 1948. A monument in his memory was erected in the military cemetery at Mount Herzl in Jerusalem.
