Levi, Yaakov (Kivi, Yankele, Jackie, Jerry)
Yaakov, son of Yitzhak and Aziza Levi, was born in Baghdad, Iraq, on January 10, 1946. His family immigrated to Israel in 1951. In August 1965 he was drafted into the IDF. He completed basic training at the Artillery Corps base, and after completing the officer’s training course, he learned a sabotage course, and before completing his regular service, the Six-Day War broke out. On the third day of the battles, 28 Iyar 5727 (7.6.1967), Yaakov was killed. He was buried at the military cemetery in Nahariya and later was taken to eternal rest in the military cemetery in Rehovot.
