With the outbreak of the War of Independence, in which Uriel and his two brothers took part, he participated in escorting convoys, and served as a sabotage officer and instructor in the course Uriel participated in most of the activities in Jerusalem and on the 17th of Av, 5708 (17.8.1948) he took part in an operation to capture the branch of “Armon Hanatziv” from which the enemy harassed our forces and the enemy was attacked with great force. His body was collected after 15 days by the Red Cross and was buried in Sheikh Bader A. On August 30, 1950, he was transferred to the eternal rest of the cemetery Military operation at Mount Herzl in Jerusalem.
