Levi, Tamar


Bat Simcha and Nissim Elbaz. Was born on 19 July 1955 in the city of Casablanca, Morocco, the eldest daughter of her parents. Immigrated to Israel with her family in 1962. The family settled in Ashkelon and Tamar began her studies at the Uziel Elementary School. She continued her junior high school at Shafir Regional School, where she also attended high school. Was a young, opinionated young woman who loved to learn and wanted to move forward. Tamar was interested in art, especially painting, and even hoped to work in this field in the future. After completing high school, she went to the nursing school in Ashkelon and completed her medical studies there, specializing in surgery. Tamar was recruited to serve in the Israel Defense Forces in October 1976 and was assigned to serve in the Medical Corps, where she continued to serve in the regular army, where she served as a nurse and had high professional skills. Tamar was a mother figure, concerned for the safety and well-being of everyone around her, at home and in her work. She was full of joy and desire to live She fell ill there and suffering as it was, she avoided Mlhtaonn. Tamar fell during her service on Tuesday Sivan Tsn”b (06/03/1992) and was buried in the military cemetery in Ashkelon. She left behind a husband, two children, parents and seven brothers and sisters – Ramond, Shulamit, Ruthie, David, Anat, Ilanit and Hagit. In a letter of condolence to the bereaved family, her commander writes about the great space she left in her education, her professional level, her efficient functioning and the warm personal connection she managed to create with her patients even under difficult conditions. Her memory was commemorated by the family in a synagogue.
