Levi-Sodi, Binyamin


Binyamin, son of Shoshana and Saadia Levi-Sodi, was born in Tel Aviv on December 26, 1925. He studied in an elementary school and after he began to work as a shoemaker, he moved to Tel Aviv where he joined the Jewish settlement police. He was proud of his uniform and his job and gladly fulfilled every job he was given, known as “Binyamin Sodi.” With the outbreak of the War of Independence, he participated in several activities in the Galilee within the framework of the Carmeli Brigade. On January 20, 1948, he went out with the Notrim armored vehicle to Yehiam. They were attacked and Binyamin was killed. He was laid to rest in the military cemetery in Nahariya.
