Levi, Shmuel

Shmuel, son of Malka and Shlomo Levi, was born on 27 February 1927 in Jerusalem. He was a member of the Haganah and a trustee for its positions. He was a gentle young man and loved by all his friends. Immediately after the outbreak of the War of Independence, Shmuel took part in the daring operations to conquer the Tower of David and break into the Old City on May 17, 1948. He was seriously injured in an armored vehicle and all efforts by the doctors to save him were unsuccessful. He was brought to eternal rest in the cemetery in Sanhedria in Jerusalem.
