Levi, Ovadia
Son of Menachem and Shulamit. He was born on the 22nd of Sivan 5622 (22.6.1922) in Aden. Where he studied in a “cheder” and an elementary school. He belonged to the Scouts movement under the supervision and management of the British Army. Was a member of a youth movement, and once activists from the movement came to Aden from the country and suggested that he come to help with construction and security action. He accepted their request and in 1942 he and his friends boarded the ship. He started working in Pardes Katz, but after three months he left Pardes Katz and worked in agriculture. He went to Tel Aviv and started working at Tnuva. In March 1948, he was drafted into the infantry and fought in the War of Independence together with his comrades in the unit, and was wounded in the hospital and was forced to look for work. In the Six Day War he was called upon to give his share to the security of the state, and after the war her employees were offered to sign a permanent army and he did so willingly due to the security situation and in the career army, On 21.1.1968, after being admitted to Tel Hashomer Hospital, he died of an illness. He was laid to rest in the military cemetery in Kiryat Shaul. The commander of the unit wrote to his family a letter of condolence to Ovadia for his untimely passing, and ended his letter with a paragraph: “During the period he served with us we learned to know him and to appreciate him.
