Levi, Nissim (Nico)


Nissim, son of Zimbul and Joseph, Levi was born on the 20th of Shevat, February 14, 1925, in Odrin (Adrianopol), Turkey. He immigrated to Israel from Holland in 1941. Nissim worked in the British army as a movie machine operator. After the outbreak of the War of Independence, he enlisted and served in the 7th Brigade. Nissim fell in the Latrun area on the 18th of Iyar, May 27, 1948. He was buried in Chulda. On the 8th of Cheshvan, (19.10.1950) he was reinterred in the Nachlat Yitzhak military cemetery.
