Levi, Nissim
Son of Sarah (Zohara) Shalom, was born in 1930 in the city of Sharab, Yemen, and in 1943 immigrated to Israel. At first he attended elementary school and when he stopped his studies he worked as a locksmith. He was active in the “Bnei Yehuda” religious youth organization of Yemenite immigrants and was praised for his good qualities, which he loved about his relatives and acquaintances. He joined the Irgun underground and took part in combat operations, was accepted to the IDF and served as a corporal in the Givati Brigade. Nissim participated in the battles in the Negev – in the battles for the Iraqi-Suweidan Police, Faluja and others, and accompanied convoys to the Negev. He was injured a few times and cured. On the 5th of Tevet 5709 (5.1.1949) he was killed in a road accident between Kfar Sava and Ra’anana and was brought to eternal rest in the military cemetery in Netanya
